The smallbusinessadvice service offers a unique service - an online Enquiry Service backed by more than 200 Business Advisers. This service enables users to submit business Enquiries to an Accredited Adviser at any time and to receive a personal response within a day or two.

The service utilises Email for reliable transfer of Enquiries and responses between service users and Business Advisers. Email is ideal for this form of communication as it widely available, easy to use and it will queue messages when recipients are not immediately available - for instance when an Adviser is at client meeting. This enables site visitors to submit Enquiries at any time, including weekends and Advisers will deal with them during their business hours.

To be successful we have to be able to route your Enquiries to the most appropriate Adviser and route Adviser responses back to you! This means we need to know the approximate location of your business (Post Code area) and your email address for Responses. We also need to be able to identify you to provide you with progress reports, follow-up enquiries etc. To achieve these aims all Visitors are required to Register before submitting Enquiries.

Many systems use account names and passwords to identify their users but this service uses your Internet Mail address instead of an account name and it generates a simple 4 digit PIN code to be used when you login. Surprisingly, proper Internet Mail addresses are much better than people's names for identification purposes as their structure is defined formally and every one has to be unique!

The Registration Process requires you to supply as a minimum two-pieces of information - your email address and your Post Code. As an alternative, if you have no Email address, you can request an address on the service and you must provide your name to use as your mailbox. Without the essential information your registration will be rejected.

Once you have been registered you will be advised of your "PIN number". This is a security code that you must provide when you Login to the service (along with your email address).

If you don't currently have an Email address then you can easily obtain one from services such as Hotmail or Freeserve.
